Original Prusa i3 MK3S+ is the original 3D printer from Josef Prusa. According to All3DP.com, the Original Prusa i3 MK3/S is the “Best 3D printer”. It offers a number of innovative features such as enhanced extruder and numerous sensors that make the maintenance much easier. This machine stands out due to being reliable and user-friendly.

Depending on your preferences you can get an assembled ready-for-work version or an assembly 3D kit. The printer features an LCD display, a heated bed and a filament monitoring sensor. The printer can fully recover after a complete loss of power and has a print area of 250 x 210 x 210 mm. The device works with a wide range of materials.

See the examples below to see what this machine is capable of.

This printer was used to create a model of a drone.

You can even print some spare parts for your drone so that in case of a crash you could get back on track in no time. The 3D printer can save you lots of time and money.

Print quality

The high performance was achieved due to numerous upgrades such as the enhanced extruder that now increases the push force gripping the filament from both sides and making the printing process more reliable. The new model also features a remastered Y-axis from aluminum extrusion. This makes the printer more rigid and persistent to vibration.

The Prusa i3 MK3S+ is an FDM 3D printer that can print layers at 50 microns. This way you can produce parts with smooth exterior surfaces. Have a look at this model of Optimus Prime. The model is incredibly smooth even for this type of a 3D printer.

The Prusa i3 MK3S+ has a 0.4 mm nozzle, which provides higher speed and better quality of printing. For example, look at this casket. It was made with the Prusa i3 MK3S+ 3D printer and finished with a poly wood stain later on.

Materials

Prusa i3 MK3S+ is suitable for working with a wide range of materials such as PLA, PET, NYLON, ASA and others.

The fan for working with PLA-type materials provides the cooling necessary to deal with such problems as stringing and warping. Have a look at this example:

It took more than 4 pounds of PLA and 96 hours to print this terrain model for an architectural design. The model is 1.9 feet in diameter.

Another great example: this Spartan Knife Holder was printed with PLA and the Spectrum Stone Age Light filament.

To ensure high reproducibility, we recommend installing an enclosed print chamber. This way the print quality would not be affected by temperature fluctuations as a result of drafts and other factors.

The Prusa i3 MK3S+ prints with 1.75 mm filament, providing you with a wide choice of materials.

Build volume

The build area of 9.8 x 8.3 x 7.9 inches (250 x 210 x 200 mm) lets your imagination run wild and print almost anything that comes to mind. Even the Elysium exosuit:

Printer controls

The upgraded version features the new enhanced sensor. Unlike in the previous model, this sensor can work well with a wide range of filaments since it is not susceptible to their optic properties. The printer is controlled via PC or the built-in LCD interface.

3D models can be printed from a computer via an SD-card, USB cable.

The printer is compatible with the PrusaSlicer or Cura slicer. It works with 3D models in .STL format. The software is available for Windows, Mac OS X, Linux.
